The Amsterdam Center for Corporate Finance (ACCF) is hosting a lunchseminar with Prof. Ray Ball, Sidney Davidson Professor of Accounting at the University of Chicago. In his seminar “Role of Financial Markets and Board in Corporate Governance” Professor Ball will discuss the role of directors. In particular, he focuses on the conflicts between the advisory and the supervisory tasks of non-executive directors. He will argue that they cannot be expected to be credible monitors and therefore should not be expected to work as a counterbalance against the management. The lunch seminar will take place on Wednesday, May 25 next, at the Hilton Hotel in Amsterdam, from 12.15 untill 13.45. If you are interested in attending, please send an email to email@example.com.
