The Amsterdam Center for Corporate Finance organizes the seminar on "A Call for Judgment: Sensible Finance for a Dynamic Economy" with Professor Amar Bhidé. Professor Amar Bhidé is the world's foremost expert on the interactions between finance and the real economy. Central to his presentation is how entrepreneurship and the economy at large could optimally be served by the financial sector, and particularly what kind of changes society may have to go through to establish a mutually reinforcing interaction between the real and financial economy leading to a prosperous and dynamic economy. Amar Bhidé, Schmidheiny Professor at the Fletcher School and currently visiting scholar at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard, has served as Glaubinger Professor of Business at Columbia University, a consultant at McKinsey & Company and a proprietary trader at E.F. Hutton. Bhidé is a founding member of the Center on Capitalism and Society, editor of Capitalism and Society, and has written about the financial crisis in the Wall Street Journal, Business Week, and Forbes. Author of The Venturesome Economy, The Origin and Evolution of New Businesses, and Of Politics and Economic Reality, Bhidé received a doctorate and an MBA with high distinction from the Harvard Business School. In his presentation Bhidé will put emphasis on the research available in his new book "A Call for Judgement - Sensible Finance for a Dynamic Economy" which is scheduled for release this September via Oxford University Press.
