Asia Bibi

Lawyer Saif ul-Malook became known in the Netherlands through his performance for Asia Bibi. Asia Bibi is a Christian woman, who was sentenced to death in 2010 for blasphemy. After serving eight years on death row, the Supreme Court of Pakistan acquitted her in October 2018 for lack of evidence. Malook received serious threats after the court ruling and had to flee to the Netherlands out of fear for his life. He returned to Pakistan in January 2019, where he continued his work under difficult circumstances.
