"After finishing my Bachelor’s degree in International and European Law at the University of Groningen, I moved to Amsterdam to study the selective Master’s programme in Law and Finance at UvA. Taking courses in law and finance opened the door to obtain a more comprehensive understanding and critical view on legal issues from a new perspective. Towards the end of the Master’s programme I decided I wanted to do a Ph.D. to dive into the topic of my interest, namely the ex-ante impacts of flexible insolvency rules on the cost of capital and financial stability. I was pleased to be granted the opportunity to do so at ACLE, under the supervision of Professor Enrico Perotti and Professor Rolef de Weijs.
