In September 2018, the Amsterdam Law School and Amsterdam Business School co-established a special English selective Master's programme in Law & Finance at the University of Amsterdam. The bright students who finalize the Master Law & Finance (MLF) obtain an LLM, but the programme is run by both the Law School as well as the Business School and taught by experts in law and finance. Almost the full academic teaching body of the programme consists of ACLE researchers.

Each year some students of the MLF are selected to perform research in the Academic Excellence Track (AcET) and work as Reseach Assistants at ACLE.
Since the start of the programme, the ACLE has also sponsored the annual MLF Best Thesis Prize. Each year the jury for the winner of this prize consists of Advisory Board members of the MLF programme. This MLF Advisory Board in turn consists of members of great reputation who all represent potential employers of our graduates. Currently (2023), the board has ten members, all working in (central) banking, prominent law firms, consultancy firms, insurance companies or academia. Only students who write their thesis in track 1 of the programme are eligible for this prize, which itself holds a financial value of €1000.
