ACLE PhD candidates
Ádám Fehér
Ádám Fehér is a Ph.D. candidate at the ACLE and the Finance Group of the University of Amsterdam. In his research, he studies the commitment of human capital under the supervision of Prof. Enrico Perrotti (from the FEB) and Prof. Giuseppe Dari-Mattiacci (from the ALS). His other research interests are contract theory and law and economics. The past years, he was a teacher in the course "Financial Economics and Quantitative Methods" under the Master in Law & Finance (MLF). Recently, he was located in New York as a Research Fellow at New York University (NYU).

Fatjon Kaja
Fatjon Kaja, JD, is a Ph.D. candidate at the ACLE and Lecturer in Law and Economics at Amsterdam Law School. As lecturer, he won the Amsterdam Law School's Lecturer of the year award of 2021.
His PhD research, partly funded by the Amsterdam University Fund (AUF) grant "The Societal Role of Corporations", focuses on the ‘Law and Economics of Sustainable Corporate Governance’ and is performed under the supervision of ACLE research members Prof. Alessio Pacces and Prof. Arnoud Boot. Fatjon Kaja holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts degree in Economics from City College of New York - CUNY, and a Juris Doctor degree from University of Minnesota Law School. Maryam Malakotipour
Maryam Malakotipour is a current ACLE Ph.D. candidate. Maryam's work is funded by the ACLE, as well as by the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), the Amsterdam Centre for Transformative Private Law (ACT), and the Master in Law & Finance (MLF).
Maryam Malakotipour: "After finishing my Bachelor’s degree in International and European Law at the University of Groningen, I moved to Amsterdam to study the selective Master’s programme in Law and Finance at UvA. Taking courses in law and finance opened the door to obtain a more comprehensive understanding and critical view on legal issues from a new perspective. Towards the end of the Master’s programme I decided I wanted to do a Ph.D. to dive into the topic of my interest, namely the ex-ante impacts of flexible insolvency rules on the cost of capital and financial stability. I was pleased to be granted the opportunity to do so at ACLE, under the supervision of Professor Enrico Perotti and Professor Rolef de Weijs.
